Sometimes you will need to take an action, such as setting boundaries. Other times you will choose to focus on a thought that makes you feel better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to do it<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Identifies,&nbsp;<strong>what you feel and why<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong>&nbsp;without getting lost in the story.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Recognise that,&nbsp;<strong>naming your emotions and the reason for them<\/strong>, you can understand faster what you need to feel better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Saki&nbsp;<strong>\u201cI feel...\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;not&nbsp;<strong>\u201cI am...\u201d<\/strong>, to understand that&nbsp;<strong>experiencing emotions, but you are not your emotions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Be aware that&nbsp;<strong>thoughts trigger emotions<\/strong>, and you can choose which thoughts to focus on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Admit that&nbsp;<strong>you can feel better by taking concrete steps and action<\/strong>, to meet your need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Loud&nbsp;<strong>say your emotion sentence<\/strong>, to develop communication skills, build confidence and move closer to action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Using this technique, you can ask yourself some questions in parallel that may help:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>What is the strongest or loudest emotion I am feeling right now?&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Can I feel it in my body?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Can I take any action to meet this need?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Is it possible to look at this situation in a way that makes you feel better?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">To learn how to be aware of and manage emotions, join the IDARTO Centre <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/idarto.com\/en\/the-meaning-of-mainities\/\">for the \u201dSkills for Change\u201d activities\u201d<\/a><\/strong> or psychological techniques for the video library <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/divide.thinkific.com\/products\/courses\/360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cPsychologist in your pocket\u201d<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Source:<\/strong><em> Adapted from Pillars4Life - Thriving in the Face of Cancer, Intervention manual (2008)<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emociju teikums skan: &#8220;Es j\u016btos &#8230; &#8220; .
